Nutribiotic Calcium Ascorbate is the best of the buffered Vitamin C powders. It dissolves very well, I don't mind the taste, it doesn't upset my gut and it is very effective. Although Sodium Ascorbate is highly recommended in various sources as the best one to use for detox or to quell a cough, and is very effective and cheaper, for some reason Sodium Ascorbate gives me very bubbly gas so I use Calcium Ascorbate instead. Calcium Ascorbate is also highly effective for any tooth or gum problem (swelling, soreness, etc.). This is my preferred vitamin C and my preferred brand.

Using calcium ascorbate to support my immune system

In 1994 I had a lump removed from my breast and testing revealed it was a particularly virulent cancer. In the next few months I underwent courses of radiotherapy and chemotherapy which have the unfortunate side effect of damaging the immune system. Since then I have supported my immune system with Vitamin C and I find calcium ascorbate powder a very good source of Vitamin C. I have had various difficulties in supply of calcium ascorbate over the years but am now able to obtain it from iHerb reliably, in good quantities and at a good price.
