I have researched a lot of vitamin manufacturers and feel that Natural Factors produces great supplements for reasonable prices. Natural Factors is also a participating company with USP. After reading the negative review here about the vinegar test, I looked at the information from USP. It says that "time released", "sustained released" and "enteric coated" vitamins will not break down using this (the vinegar) test. Because, these products are designed to break down in the intestinal tract. My family and I have been happily taking this vitamin C for several years.
This is the best Vitamin C if you're on the budget, and it has just the right amount of bioflavonoids to support the absorption. I cannot tell the source of ascorbic acid, but they say it's non-GMO which is important. I can confirm it's gentle on the stomach and you can take more than one tablet if your immune system is weak.
I like the slow release of this so I get a more steady absorption and don't waste the product. I don't like chewables unless I have a sore throat and when I want to megadose to get over a cold I buy a bottle and eat them like candy until they're gone.
