Great for sun allergyYear after year I had a bad sun allergy. Searging for a solution I found this product. About 2-3 months after starting with this product I experienced less sun allergy. After using it a longer time it totaly disappeared. I take 10 mg daily, whole year trough. Side effect for me was an improving of quality of my skin and another side effect is that your musscles recover a lot quicker after training. I can't do without this product!
Used to take 4 mg twice a day with other brand thus decided to try this brand that gives 10 mg astaxanthin and find that it works better. It is a small dark color capsule whereby swallowing isn't a problem. It has a subtle "fishy" or "seaweed" smell which I am not so bothered with it. Occasionally, I may burp shortly after taking it. It helps with my eye vision, I am less affected by the floaters. It is said that this can also serve as a good sunscreen. I am not too sure about this though but I will still use my external sunscreen before makeup.
I recently tried NOW Foods Astaxanthin, Extra Strength, 10 mg, and I'm impressed! The extra strength formula provides a potent dose, and I've noticed a positive impact on my overall well-being. NOW Foods consistently delivers high-quality supplements, and this one is no exception. Highly recommended! It is good for antioxidants too!
Easy to take capsules. No bad effects not even stomach upsets.I do believe this vitamins are good and will continue to take them as only a pill is needed a day.Astaxanthin is a potent antioxidant and invaluable to boosts good health. Results are more obvious the longer they are taken.Reasonable cost for a good brand
Astaxanthin is a carotenoid pigment and is considered one of the most powerful antioxidants, with an antioxidant capacity 5,000 times higher than ascorbic acid. I have been using it for years, and one of the most observable effects is the significant attenuation of skin redness due to solar radiation. It does not replace a sunscreen, but obviously improves the antioxidant capacity of the epidermis.
The quality of astaxanthin capsules is good. The capsule size is small. Drinking is comfortable. The taste is neutral. This antioxidant improves vision, acts on the eyes from the inside. Confirm. There is a benefit. My eyes began to hurt less. There was energy and an improvement in the condition of the skin. I am 70 years old. And no. There are no fewer wrinkles. But it has become fresher. Smoother tone. The complexion has ceased to be earthy. And he became bright, healthy. I recommend.
I decided to give it a go because of my tired and dry eyes (working 10hrs/daily in front of a monitor). It seems a good combo with lutein (from NowFoods again) because it's a well known combo because of carotene and carotenoids. Had taken it before in a blend and got a bit of improvement and now decided to give it a go in a standalone supplement. Would recommend!
This powerful supplement boasts impressive health benefits that are worth every penny.First and foremost, quality is everything when it comes to supplements and astaxanthin does not disappoint. It is made with premium ingredients that are pure, potent, and effective. Plus, the pill size is small and easy to swallow, making it convenient for any lifestyle.
I use Life Extension, Natural Factors and Now supplements. How’s Astaxanthin is from a good source and the dosage of 10mg hits the sweat spot. It protects the layers of your epidermal and dermal skin areas from excessive UV rays. Japenese doctors have used dosages of up to 12 mg to reverse myocardial infarction of 2 years of use. Similarly they have used Astaxanthin for people with non alcoholic fatty syndrome. It’s also one of the most potent antioxidants on the ORAC scale. Nothing comes close to it.
I cannot say I notice anything from this specifically, but I wouldn't expect anything obvious anyway. The capsules are quite big for softgels. I guess the advantage there is that you don't need to take these with additional fat for absorption. I like that NOW Foods seem to have switched to olive oil instead of vegetable oil in most of their products, and to mixed tocopherols instead of only alpha-tocopherol. Also, I asked the support about the amount of tocopherol, because I was worried it would interfere with the absorption of tocotrienols, and they answered that less than 1% of the formula is tocopherol. With a weight of about 800mg per softgel, that should come out to under 8mg of tocopherol.
Potent antioxidant from a quality brand. Been taking astaxanthin for almost 2 years. This is supposedly the recommended dosage to experience the benefits. You'll feel the difference after about 10 days to 2 weeks. For me, I hardly have brain fog now and can feel an improvement in mental energy. I usually take this with fish oil after dinner.
